Symposium dans le cadre de la journée mondiale de l’AVC

Le Dr Philippe Desfontaines (1) a présenté un exposé sur le trajet de soins AVC depuis le domicile jusqu’à la stroke unit, insistant sur l’importance de la pré-notification avant admission et les possibilités de sélection des candidats potentiels à une thrombectomie via le score RACE en vue d’un transfert direct en salle de neuroradiologie. Le Dr André Peeters (2), responsable de l’unité neurovasculaire des Cliniques Universitaires Saint-Luc, a présenté les derniers développements en matière de thrombolyse iv, notamment pour les AVC avec "petits déficits" (NIHSS < 5). Le Dr Denis Brisbois (3) a présenté les dernières avancées en matière de thrombectomie, avec les atteintes M3 et M4 et la participation du Groupe santé CHC à l’étude internationale DISTAL. Enfin, le Dr François Delvoye (4) a présenté les derniers progrès dans le domaine des antiagrégants plaquettaires et leur utilisation potentielle lors de ré-occlusion en cours de thrombectomie.


This 24th of October 2022, the stroke unit of the Groupe santé CHC - Clinique CHC Montlégia held its annual symposium dedicated to the acute management of ischaemic stroke. Dr Philippe Desfontaines presented a talk about the stroke pathway from patient’s home until the stroke unit, emphasizing the importance of pre-notification before admission and the opportunity to select the potential candidates for a thrombectomy based on the RACE score in order to transfer the patients straight away to the angiosuite. Dr André Peeters, head of the stroke unit of the University clinics of Saint-Luc, presented the latest developments in the field of iv thrombolysis, aspecially in the small deficit stroke (NIHSS < 5). Dr Denis Brisbois presented the last advances in the field of distal thrombectomy M3 and M4, and the participation of the Groupe santé CHC to the international trial DISTAL. Last but not least, Dr François Delvoye presented the last improvements in the field of anti-platelet therapies and their potential use in the cases of reocclusion during the thrombectomy procedure.
